Hull Schools Festival of Carols

Our choir were at City Hall all day today for the annual Hull Schools Festival of Carols final rehearsals and all back there again in the evening for the concert itself.

Endike Choir pupils performed our magnificent Giant Puppet Nativity to a packed (sell-out) house, musically backed by a choir of nearly 200 children from Endike and many other Hull primaries. Great job, choir! You were all stars and everyone loved it!

Big thanks to Laurence Rugg for running this year on year, and of course to Mrs Mincke for all her help with the choir and puppets. Also thanks due to Scrapstore Hull and the children in our Year 3 and 4 (now 4 and 5) who made the puppets right back in June!

The songs in the nativity were all by local composers: me, Laurence Rugg, Jan Holdstock (who sadly died earlier this year) and Caroline King of Spring Cottage Primary, who also was the pianist and whose super choir pupils provided the sung the narrative links between the main songs. Mark Keith was on the organ. A great team effort for our City of Culture year. Long may this event continue!
